About our Breads
Ian - and now Lana, too - make all our breads, from scratch,
using simple, fresh ingredients, NEVER any conditioners or preservatives,
a little creativity, and a lotta love.
CURRENT Bread baking days - Mondays,
Wednesdays & Fridays. We encourage you to call ahead to
reserve/order bread, especially if you want more than one... while
we work out new daily quantity requirements. Pickup times will be
early/mid afternoon for the next while. (M/W/F - Sourdough & Multigrain,
W only - Wholegrain, F only - Granary & Feature Breads). If
you have a large special order, we can accommodate any day. Please
call at least 2 days in advance.
MULTIGRAIN(800g): whole wheat and unbleached white flour
with millet, flax, sesame, sunflower, oat, rye, and barley. This
is a crusty, chewy, heavy loaf with lots of seeds. IT DOES
CONTAIN dairy & sugar.
GRANARY(800g): whole wheat and unbleached white flour with
a 9-grain mix of milled and whole seeds, plus the distinct flavour
of molasses. This is a very heavy, chewy, long lasting bread with
a nice crust. IT DOES CONTAIN dairy & sugar. ONLY
MADE ON FRIDAYS
SOURDOUGH(625g): a 24 hour fermented bread, it's
MUCH TASTIER than plain old white bread! A soft, chewy, light bread
with just a subtle sourness, this is the perfect sandwich bread.
Unlike what many people think of as sourdough, this doesn't have
that hard, thick crust or the really sour flavour..
THIS BREAD IS COMPLETELY VEGAN. IT DOES CONTAIN
a little sugar.
WHOLEGRAIN(700g): a dark, heavy loaf with no white
flour. 40% rye, 60% whole wheat with pumpkin seeds, flax, and molasses,
this bread is available
as a 700g round or a 400g baguette. IT DOES CONTAIN dairy & sugar. ONLY
MADE ON WEDNESDAYS

we'll do our best to accommodate you - talk to ian about planning for
bread. These are available
on special order ANYTIME - 2 days notice required.
