Big Groove Radio - Each week Brad Mennie brings you an All-Canadian mix of blues, roots and acoustic grooves from his studio (re: shack) in Roberts Creek on the beautiful Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. He features lots of locals, many of whom have played on our stage. Listen online at www.civu.net

Brad is always looking for local and regional sounds to promote and mix in with some of the finest independent labels around. Contact The Big Groove Guy at biggrooveguy@me.com to get your sounds into the mix. Or you can just nominate any grooves that you think would fit in.Quantcast

Fri Apr 9 2010 - BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND - from the Okanagan - Raghu Lokanathan - If you missed Raghu last fall, don't miss him this spring. He's hugely entertaining, with savvy, satirical, and sometimes surprising lyrics woven through indie-folk guitar melodies that you can't help but hum along with. (Language warning, not necessarily a family show).

Thur April 15 - Jon and Roy - Hailing from Vancouver Island, after the release of their album Another Noon, suddenly the band found themselves part of a ‘new folk’ movement, a style growing out of North America and beyond. Soon after its release, songs from Another Noon found their way into the scores of many movies and TV shows. Volkswagen called to use a song in a commercial. Their music appeared on charts and radio internationally. They found themselves playing live all over Canada, performing at major festivals, on tour in the UK and doing shows and tours with Xavier Rudd, The Cat Empire and Buck 65. Suddenly a band that had focused more on its rehearsal space and local fan base now began a more frenetic pace as it addressed a growing audience worldwide. And here they come to Gibsons! Reserve early, this one will sell out.

Joining Miles for this night of entertainment will be fellow label-mates Woodland Telegraph, who had the #1 album on Galaxy folk radio last year, and were also nominated for the Polaris prize.

Fri June 4 - Miles Black - Jazz festival darling and one of Canada's most respected & talented pianists, Miles Black makes a much coveted stop at Wild Bistro... reserve early for this one!

We're pleased to announce that since we are now fully licensed, appetizers, dinner & drinks are available at all music nights! Dinner Reservations are welcome and suggested for music nights.
