Cakes & Sweets

Rule number one - WE ARE NOT A DIET BAKERY.

Rule number two - WE ARE HAPPY TO MAKE (or attempt to make) PRACTICALLY ANYTHING YOU WISH.

Rule number three - If what you want is excluded by Rule Number One, Refer to Rule Number Two.

PLEASE NOTE: as of April 2010, we are no longer stocking retail sweets in quantity. As we've now made the transition to full service restaurant, grab-n-go sweets are not our priority any longer.

If you need sweets for a function, or want a special cake or other dessert, please call ahead. We will do our best to accommodate special orders with enough notice, and if we can't, we'll refer you to someone who hopefully can.

But we still make CAKES...

We couldn't possibly stop making cakes. We're pretty proud of our cakes - particularly the vanilla, chocolate & gluten-free carrot. They're dense, moist, and velvety - never dry, never crumbly, and never, never, never airy!

We do not have a "standard" cake menu... we'll make whatever you want (or at least we'll try)... Cakes are ONLY available on special order, and require a MINIMUM 1-WEEK notice... 2 is better, especially if you want something special. Wedding Cakes require a minimum 3 weeks notice.

Our most popular cakes are:

  • Chocolate Ganache - rich dark chocolate cake filled with your choice of dark chocolate ganache, white chocolate ganache, whipped cream (plain, chocolate, caramel, irish cream, hazelnut or peppermint), bavarian cream & berries, vanilla or caramel cream, chocolate mint chips, butterscotch chips & caramel cream...
  • Vanilla/Lemon - lightly vanilla or lemon flavoured sponge cake... dense & moist, you know you're eating cake - also with your choice of fillings: bavarian cream & berries, lemon curd, grapefruit curd, white chocolate or caramel cream, whipped cream (lemon, caramel, espresso, almond...)... get creative. NOW ALSO AVAILABLE IN GLUTEN-FREE!!!
  • Chocolate Oblivion Truffle Cake - a gluten-free confection...
  • Chocolate Angel Food Cake - light, low-fat, scrumptiously chocolate
  • Black Forest Cake - layers of chocolate cake, kirsch-soaked sour cherries, whipped cream & chocolate... (Can also be done with lemon cake & caramel for a lighter, refreshing option)
  • Gateaux St. Honore - the ultimate creampuff cake... puff pastry and choux pastry filled with luscious cream, chocolate & caramel, then topped with more whipped cream, chocolate & caramel. Divine.
  • Diplomat Cake - rich, velvety butter cake layered with rum buttercream, hazelnuts & puff pastry
  • Croquembouche - a cream puff tower... traditional french wedding cake, it's encased in sugar glass and topped with spun sugar
  • Pound Cake - good ol'fashioned southern pound cake, so named due to the pound of butter required to make it...
